#15 Michelle Szeto: Loyalty is Currency
Michelle Szeto is Vice President of the Management Division at Paquin Entertainment Group in Nashville. I first met Michelle with one of her longtime clients, Donovan Woods at a Juno Awards Gala broadcast. Since, we've worked on a few projects together in my work at SiriusXM.
Michelle got her first taste of the entertainment industry at an early age in her hometown of Hong Kong, working in concert production for international superstars such as Oasis, Celine Dion, Boyz II Men, Sean Lennon and Prodigy. Wait until you hear the Noel Gallagher part!!
Since joining Paquin Entertainment Group over fifteen years ago, Michelle has worked in publicity, tour marketing and management. Now, in her role as Vice President, Management Division, Michelle personally manages award-winning artists and songwriter: Donovan Woods, Logan Wall, Aaron Raitiere, Wild Rivers, Devan and Cassidy Mann; continues to lead global marketing and press initiatives for management clients, including Buffy Sainte-Marie; and works alongside the Agency division in international talent acquisition and tour marketing support for its roster of artists.
During the pandemic, Michelle and Donovan launched a record label together which they called End x Music (end times music...the pandemic, you get it). The core of End Times’ mission is transparency and adaptability. In the world of streaming, the data is available. Artists should understand their expenses and their earnings as well as anyone they work with. It allows us to interpret and react to how, why, and where songs are being discovered.
There are many pathways to success, and success looks different to everyone. Every artist and every project is unique and artists should be confident that the team built around them is being created thoughtfully and purposefully in service of their individuality.
