Sarah Burke here, back from traveling and enjoying what I'll call the "summer of Sarah." While most of us were enjoying the sun, long-time music journalist Karen Bliss was eagerly anticipating the publication of THIS article. She spent most of the pandemic combing through a string of allegations from several women, but most notably, a woman who goes by Noire and shared THIS post back in 2019.

While I've been seeing Karen around at concerts in Toronto for many years, we first got to know each other during Nunavut Music Week the same year, and I had been interested in hearing more about her journalism career before I became aware of this story.

Stories about sexual assault allegations can be traumatizing for survivors of sexual assault. If you or anyone you know needs support, in the United States you can reach out to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) by calling the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE) or visiting the organization’s website for more information. In Canada, visit the Sexual Assault Support website or call the Assaulted Women’s Helpline 1-866-863-0511. All these organizations provide free, confidential support to sexual assault victims.
