Welcome to my first episode of the Women in Media Podcast!

Josie Dye is more than just, "a normal blonde girl," as she puts it. I invited her to be my first guest because she is the person who inspired me to become a radio host; I used to listen to her on CFNY in Toronto in the early 2000s where she was a host for fifteen years.

Josie is now the lead on Indie88’s morning show in Toronto with her co-hosts Brent Albrecht and Carlin Burton. At the time of this recording, she was co-hosting with Matt Hart and Carlin.

Josie speaks about the women who have inspired her like her mother and Maie Pauts, and great advice from mentors like Ross Winters, JJ Johnston and the team at Indie88.

Like many women, Josie also had some difficult times in her radio career. Josie also touches on maternity leave and the challenges she faced in trying to become a morning show host.
